The 400

Always having a love for old houses,  when I first  got to see the inside of The 400, I was smitten once again.  So many questions and doubts.   Was it too big?   Currently a five bedroom home, likely to have been 7 once upon a time.  Did it need too much work?  How much could I do, how much would I contract out?  Was this the right move?  Busy corner, great views, beautiful yard and landscape.  So many things to think about.  But as they say, love always wins. Bringing life back into this Brookside beauty has had its challenges.  This lady is built though.  There is a 10 inch layer of concrete between every floor. The beautiful case windows with transoms have weathered many a storm.  When I had the home inspection, my contractor said the two magic words, "good bones".

I have gone to great lengths to keep the home as period as possible, whenever possible.  Replacing most of the non-period lighting was my first task.  I did my research and even named the suites after some of the more colorful former owners. All in all, it's been a labor of love and has been well worth the reward. I have been blessed to be living in this magnificent home and now I would like to share it with you.  I like to keep things simple.  If you have any specific questions about the property, the amenities, house rules,  etc. please contact us.
